How do I know if something’s wrong with my engine?

How long do most mechanical repairs take?
That depends on the job. Smaller fixes, like belts or hoses, can be done the same day, while larger repairs, such as engine or exhaust work, may take a few days. Most workshops will give you an estimated timeframe once they’ve diagnosed the problem.
Can I keep driving if my check engine light comes on?
It’s not recommended. A check engine light can indicate minor issues like a loose cap or serious ones like sensor or engine faults. Keep driving briefly if you must, but book an inspection as soon as possible to avoid further damage or costly repairs.
